I talk too much.

That’s why when I was a teenager I started writing. I found that although I ramble in speech, I am much better suited to sit down, get quiet, gather my thoughts, and start putting on paper (eventually computer) exactly what I mean to say.

Without the pressure of having to be spontaneously interesting, funny or articulate, I take time to write, then edit, rewrite, and eventually, either because of a deadline, or simply that I’m done, I’ll release the work. Although few believe it, I am shy and insecure when I have to speak. Conversely, I feel powerful and confident when I write.
