Google Please Help

First things first: If you need to reach me by email, please use: robbie@vorhaus.com.

Last night Google produced an error message that my Google account, including gmail, docs, reader, alerts, calendar, everything, was no longer recognized and I have access to nothing.  And, although I have slowly been migrating almost exclusively to Google, there is no one to call, and the best I can do is fill out a form and give my son’s email address as a contact.

Essentially, up until now, everything has been simple and flawless; except now, I’m up the creek without a paddle.  I’m sure there is a solution, yet as pervasive and important Google has become in my life, it should be a million times easier to get this issue resolved.

Google, you need a 24 hour security number we can call, especially for people like me who rely on you.  And, to tell you the truth, I would actually pay a monthly fee just knowing that if something has gone wrong with my Google account, I would have instant access to Google.

As I wrote in the previous post, this crisis, too, shall pass.  But as I’m so clearly reminded, to take nothing for granted, backup your work, have fallback systems, and pray that if you do have a problem with Google, be persistent and patient.  Very patient.

Again: please now use robbie@vorhaus.com for email contact.

Google, if you’re out there, Big Guy, please help.

I am sure Google will help restore your account. I would like to comment that Google DOES offer paid support through the Google Apps for business at the cost of $50/account/year (Less than $5/month!) and you can use your own domain (vorhaus.com). See http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/business/features.html for more info.

Thank you, epsalon. I didn’t know about that service, but I’m glad I do now.

    Robbie,

Google will help the problem is the responsiveness. I have seen this happen in various occasions to a few people and I always advice everyone to make sure to have control to at least their email.

I think you should stick with the @vourhaus.com email even after Google has fixed your problem. I hope it is already solved.

    Have a great week!
